How much does it cost?
Admission is $12. Skate rental is $4.00. We take cash and card. You can purchase tickets in advance as well.
Can I visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame while attending Holiday On Ice?
Yes! You can purchase admission to the NASCAR Hall of Fame inside the building during the Hall’s open hours.
Can I bring my own skates?
Yes. You would only pay the $12 admission.
Do you offer large group discounts?
Yes. If your group is 16 people or more you may qualify for a discount. You can submit a group request here or for more information, call Courtney at 704-373-3344.
Can we have a Birthday Party at Holiday On Ice?
Of course! Holiday On Ice is a great place to have a birthday party. We have special information about birthday parties here and you may also call Courtney at 704-373-3344. with any questions.
Are Season Passes Available?
Yes, season passes will be available for purchase at Holiday on Ice for $50 per person. They are $40 if you have your own skates.
Where should I park?
Parking is available in the NASCAR Hall of Fame Parking Deck accessible from the entrance at 500 South Brevard Street.
For a daily rate of $10, on Saturday and Sunday only, additional parking is available across the street from the Hall in the Caldwell lot located at 501 S. Caldwell Street.
Is there a limit to how long I can skate?
Nope, once you purchase your ticket, the admission is good for the entire day.
Are you open rain or shine?
Yes… Mostly. It is extremely rare for us to close the rink due to weather. If you are unsure, please call us with any questions.
Can I leave and come back later that same day?
Yes. Just keep your admission ticket and you can return the same day.
What if I can’t skate and just want to watch?
There is no charge to watch! There are many areas available for you to watch in our viewing area.
Do you have special events going on?
We sure do! Each week we have different activities and events you can check our events calendar here. Some events planned for this year include Princess Parties, Ultimate Date Night, photos with Santa Claus, Tree Lighting, CLT New Years Eve and much more.
We’ve even had a flash mob!
What is the ice made of?
The same as those frozen cubes that are added to drinks….it is made of water. And lots of it.
How much water?
We estimate that over 10,000 gallons of water is used to create a 6-7 in base of ice. Not your average bathtub or swimming pool.
Why does a waiver need to be signed?
Everyone who skates must sign a waiver accepting a skate at your own risk policy. Children under the age of 18 must have an adult sign the waiver on their behalf.
Are there age restrictions for small children?
No. Children range in abilities. You should judge for yourself your own child’s ability.
If my child cannot skate, can I get a refund?
No. Unfortunately there is no way to identify or differentiate.
My child would like to skate but I can’t. Can I go on the ice with him/her?
No. No one is allowed on the ice without wearing skates.
Do you carry all sizes of skates?
Skates are available from children’s size 9 up to adult size 13. Skate sizes will not always match shoe sizes. Our employees will help you identify a size that’s right for you.
Do you have skates for both men and women?
All skates are unisex.
Do you sharpen skates?
Yes. There is a $5.00 fee to have your own skates sharpened.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and card. You can also purchase tickets in advance.
Is Food and Beverage available?
Yes. A variety of food, soda, water and hot chocolate are available at the rink during the rink’s open hours. There is also a wide range of restaurants in the immediate area. Buffalo Wild Wings is adjacent to the ice rink.
What type of clothing should I wear?
The ice rink is outdoors and therefore you should plan to dress warm enough to sustain being outside in the daily conditions. Socks, gloves and hats are recommended regardless of the conditions. Should you forget any of these items, they will be available for purchase at the Skate House.
Are there restrooms available?
Yes. However you cannot access them while wearing skates. You must remove your skates before going to the restroom. Restrooms are located inside Buffalo Wild Wings.
Can I take the LYNX Lightrail to Holiday on Ice?
Yes, Take the LYNX Lightrail to uptown and get off at 3rd and Convention Center. Walk South on 3rd Street. Make a Right on Brevard Street. Holiday on Ice is located at the corner of Brevard and MLK, at The NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza.
How is Holiday On Ice built?
By gnomes that come out only at night to freeze the water with their magic wands.
Hahaha. Seriously, how is it made?
Lots and lots of hired WBT and WLNK radio workers get together and build this ice rink by hand. One Sand grain at a time, and One Water droplet at a time. It takes a lot of hands to put it together. And we do it so you can have a great time! We love seeing your smiling face gliding across the ice. Watch this short video to see how it is done:

Can I sign the waiver for my child online?
Yes you can. If you’re dropping off a child who is under 18, you can sign the waiver online for them. It does need to be done day of and the link to the waiver is here.
